Filmmaker and transracial adoptee Phil Bertelsen creates a vivid portrait of the pleasures and challenges experienced by three white families who adopt African American children over the course of three generations. The intimate documentary, which premiered at the Hollywood Black Film Festival, also provides an illustrative window into how transracial adoption has changed since the early 1970s.
