Vladimir Mashkov, Yegor Beroev and Olga Kras'ko star in this Russian drama about love, hope, humanity and, ultimately, redemption. Set in the chaotic decade of the 1930s, the story follows a violin prodigy who moves to the big city to realize his dreams. But success comes very slowly, maybe too slowly, for him. Eventually, his experiences teach him that love trumps everything, even a deep-seated need for public approbation.
