Filmmaker Maxie D. Collier examines the mogul phenomenon and how it's taken over the hip-hop industry. No longer satisfied with just churning out records, many performers, including Ludacris, Russell Simmons, Usher and Fat Joe, have taken hold of the reins and steered their careers into entrepreneurial directions, becoming, to use a Collier term, "paper pushers" who are involved in marketing, decision-making and all other aspects of business.
