As the Soviet Union ramps up its space program in 1961, conflicted medic Daniel (Merab Ninidze) questions the risks young cosmonauts must take with their lives while he struggles to sort out his feelings for his wife (Chulpan Khamatova) and his secret girlfriend (Anastasiya Sheveleva). A fascinating look at sacrifices made during the space race, this drama won Silver Lion and Best Cinematography awards at the Venice Film Festival.
