Fueled by praise from fellow painter Camille Pissarro (Alun Armstrong), self-taught artist Paul Gauguin (Kiefer Sutherland) quits his job as a successful Parisian stockbroker and throws himself into his craft, leaving his wife (Nastassja Kinski) and four children for an exotic, South Seas existence. Mario Andreacchio directs this sweeping biopic that sheds light on the fascinating period that inspired some of Gauguin's most famous works.
