Known as much for Henry Mancini's iconic theme song and modern jazz soundtrack as for Craig Stevens's performance as the handsome, straight-shooting title character, Blake Edwards's noir detective series revolutionized the genre. A private eye with a keen sense of style, Gunn gets his leads from cop friend Lt. Jacoby (Herschel Bernardi), and by keeping his ears open at Mother's, the jazz club that employs his singer girlfriend, Edie (Lola Albright).
