Phantom of the Opera

Disfigured and wanted for murder, violinist Erik Claudin (Claude Rains) takes refuge in the Paris Opera House, where his shadowy figure terrorizes the theater company. Claudin worships soprano Christine Dubois (Susanna Foster) from afar, but his obsession becomes dangerous. Meanwhile, two suitors also vie for Dubois's affection and try to save her. This classic 1943 remake of the silent horror film won an Oscar for Best Cinematography.
