Director-writer Ramón Salazar uses his film's title ("stones" in English) to represent the shifting priorities and oncoming obstacles faced by five different women: Anita (Mónica Cervera), Isabel (Ángela Molina), Adela (Antonia San Juan), Leire (Najwa Nimri) and Maricarmen (Vicky Peña). With their lives connected by the shoes they wear and by a brothel outside of Madrid, the ladies' stories represent their struggles for a better life.
