Part of the "American Playhouse" anthology series, this adaptation of John Updike's story follows a young man (Christopher Collet) who gains a new outlook on life when his family moves from the city back to their farm. Faced with thoughts of death for the first time, he embarks on a desperate search for eternal life. Caroline McWilliams, Jeffrey DeMunn, Lenka Peterson and Boyd Gains co-star in this sensitive coming-of-age drama.
