This live-action musical version of the Carlo Collodi classic starts off as a drama about a girl (Sandy Duncan) who wants to pursue a theatre career without the intrusion of her father (Danny Kaye). In the play-within-the-movie, Sandy Duncan is Pinocchio, the marionette who wants to be a real boy, and Danny Kaye is Geppetto. Flip Wilson and Liz Torres co-star as The Fox and The Cat in this TV family favorite that features songs by Billie Barnes.
