Pioneers in Ingolstadt

This black comedy from Rainer Werner Fasserbinder follows a group of young German army engineers who are building a bridge in the town of Ingolstadt and seek relief from their boredom through alcohol, acts of brutality and sexual escapades. Hanna Schygulla stars as Berta, a naive young woman yearning for love who gets unwittingly caught up in the workers' perverse shenanigans with hopes of finding a lasting relationship.
