Thakur Avadh (Om Puri) is an evil landlord in a remote village who rules with an iron fist. His two sons live a debauched life, knowing that their father will bail them out of any scrape. When they go on a drunken binge and then molest a 9-year-old girl and throw her in a ditch, they go too far. The child's meek and submissive father, Rudra (Sanjay Dutt) turns into a ruthless avenger, out to seek justice.
