Although celebrated among Hong Kong cinema fans for its action-packed finale, this Joe Cheung film is primarily a buddy comedy about two cops, Shin Chin-Chian (Jacky Cheung) and Chiang Li-Chi (Stephen Tung). The pair's investigation of some murderous underworld figures is hampered by a visit from Shin's mainland cousins and Chiang's encounter with an ex-girlfriend (Bonnie Fu) who's witnessed a mob hit.
