Poor Cow

  (1968)
Director Ken Loach's bleak character study follows the emotional evolution of Joy (Carol White), a wife and mother dissatisfied with her small-time crook husband, Tom (John Bindon), whose petty thievery far outweighs his interest in his family. When Tom is arrested, Joy has a chance to start life anew, and does so with a vengeance. Co-starring Terence Stamp, Loach's drama garnered a Best Foreign Film nod at the Golden Globes.
