Portrait of an Assassin

Fabius (Pierre Brasseur), a married carnival daredevil, is falling for the circus's sadistic manager (Maria Montez) -- a woman who enjoys toying with the emotions of her lovers, who usually turn up maimed or dead. Roped hopelessly into a fatal attraction, Fabius soon finds himself caught up in his new girlfriend's three-ring circus of manipulation, deceit and murder. But she's the only one enjoying the show.
