When a suspicious accident in Italy leaves his investigative reporter brother and a young actress dead, London artist Tim Forrester (Robert Beatty) smells a rat and is determined to find out what happened. The plot thickens after Alison Ford (Terry Moore), the actress who supposedly died in the auto accident, turns up alive on his doorstep. But her reappearance produces more questions than answers in this gritty suspenser helmed by Guy Green.
