Despite his objection to violence, a young man (Dev Anand) follows his father's wishes and joins the army, leaving his loyal girlfriend (Waheeda Rehman) behind in India. Soon after he's dishonorably discharged, he learns that the enemy is working from within to destroy his country. Fueled with a new patriotism, he heads abroad to stop them. But as part of the secret mission, he must seduce a beautiful enemy agent (Zahida) and betray his beloved.
