When Seattle insurance salesman Jack Reynolds (Daniel Stern) vacations with his family in Malta, he has no idea his wife, librarian Julia (Juliet Stevenson), has a secret -- she's planning to meet her first love, Alex (Tchéky Karyo). The passionate Frenchman keeps the date they made 25 years ago, and now, Julia must choose between the lover she's thought about for years or her sweet but utterly boring husband in this engaging romantic comedy.
