Purple Noon

  (1960)
Plein soleil
It's more like high noon when Alain Delon, as the cagey Tom Ripley, murders his rich friend Philippe Greenleaf (Maurice Ronet) and then co-opts his life in René Clément's 1960 film adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's novel The Talented Mr. Ripley. The suspense builds as Ripley's complicated impersonation gradually circles back and entraps him in his own manufactured web of deceit and murder.
