Government agent James Barlow (Randolph Scott) infiltrates the infamous Reno brothers' gang by staging phony train robberies and convincing them that he's a fellow criminal. Once accepted into the gang, Barlow learns how they've remained at large through legal loopholes and political payoffs. But things get complicated when he falls in love with the Reno boys' pretty sister, Laura (Mala Powers). Costars include Forrest Tucker and Denver Pyle.
