Housewife Janet (Cheryl Campbell), who fears her husband, John (Malcolm Stoddard), may be having an affair, decides to flirt with an illiterate, grief-stricken young man named Billy (Ewan Stewart). But Billy's reaction threatens to crash the party in a violent way. Alan Bridges directs and acclaimed British dramatist Dennis Potter (The Singing Detective, Pennies From Heaven) writes this made-for-television drama.
