Raj Mathur (Shah Rukh Khan) is a young engineering graduate, struggling to make it big in Bombay. With the help of a charismatic street philosopher (Nana Patekar) and a young woman named Renu (Juhi Chawla), Raj quickly rises to the top, but not everyone is happy with his success. Soon, Raj finds himself fighting for his honor -- and his life. Aziz Mirza directs this award-winning drama with music by Jatin and Lalit.
