After a priest's innocent 6-year-old daughter, Janki (Asha Parekh), is kidnapped and eventually forced into prostitution, a series of events lead to heartbreak and confusion for two families in this poignant Bollywood drama. A poor bangle salesman eventually rescues Janki and marries her, releasing her from a miserable life -- but when their daughter, Kiran, falls in love with wealthy young Prakash (Vijay Arora), the past comes back to haunt them.
