A woman must make the hardest choice of her life in this touching Filipino drama directed by Ishmael Bernal. With divorce out of the question, married teacher Emil (Christopher De Leon) and single docent Marilou (Vilma Santos) begin an affair, but his idiosyncrasies and domineering behavior soon strain their relationship. When Emil becomes ill, Vilma must decide whether to care for him or move on with her life.
