To save himself from certain death, Joe Thomas (John David Braddock), a computer technician, undergoes a kidney transplant with the help of visionary geneticist Dr. Evelyn Tyler (Lana Dykstra), with whom he grows enamored after he comes out of surgery a changed man. Soon, he's channeling his expertise into the fascinating world of biotechnology, which he deems the savior of mankind, until he learns that everything, even science, has its limits.
