In the middle of World War II, an American pilot (Bill Paxton) embarks on a dangerous reconnaissance mission over Belgium. After his plane is destroyed, he must scramble to find safe refuge from the Nazis. Taken in by members of the resistance movement, he falls in love with the wife (Julia Ormond) of his protector. But their secret affair could threaten their very lives -- and those of their fellow freedom fighters.
