In this modern-dress presentation of the second opera in Richard Wagner's four-opera cycle, Simon Rattle leads the Berlin Philharmonic at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence in what is both his and the festival's first production of the "Ring Cycle." With Jamaican bass-baritone Willard White vocalizing Wotan and mezzo-soprano Lilli Paasikivi singing Fricka, this performance (staged by Stephane Braunschweig) takes viewers on a stirring musical journey.
