Bombarded by stress from her dead-end job, attention-starved family and never-ending household duties, weary working mother Rita (Nicole Sullivan) reclaims her individuality by rocking out with her best friend (Tisha Campbell-Martin) and her daughter's boyfriend (Ricky Ullman) in a garage band. Throughout this comedy series, Rita must face uncomfortable challenges, including arguments with her kids, a visit from her mother and another pregnancy.
