After relocating from her posh estate to the relatively poor village of Avonlea, young Sara Stanley (Sarah Polley) must come to terms with class consciousness in this series based on the works of Anne of Green Gables author Lucy Maud Montgomery. As she deals with a lower income, hard work and new kids, Sara butts heads with crotchety aunts, local bullies and stray criminals in this family-friendly TV series set in the early 1900s.
