In the small township of Avonlea in the early 1900s, young Sara Stanley (Sarah Polley) and her cousins continue to make mischief and land in trouble -- much to the consternation of the community's adults. In these episodes, Sara's antics and misadventures lead her through tales of romance, tragedy and comedy. Beyond her escapades, which include searching for buried pirate treasure, she must cope with harsh realities such as her father's death.
