Quipster Rodney Carrington stars as title character Rodney Hamilton, a blue-collar family man with a lovely wife (Jennifer Aspen), two sons, no patience for stupidity and a burning desire to be a stand-up comic instead of a 9-to-5 working schmo. Bolstered by the support of the rest of the Hamilton clan, the aspiring funnyman tries to get his dream career off the launching pad. Mac Davis has a recurring role as Rodney's grating father-in-law.
