Young schoolteacher Marie (Caroline Ducey) is sexually frustrated by her boyfriend (Sagamore Stevenin), who refuses to pay her any physical attention. So she embarks on an unbridled sex odyssey that pushes the limits of lust and degradation. Catherine Breillat's drama examines female sexuality thoughtfully but dispassionately. The unrated director's cut includes sexually explicit material, including a gynecological exam and a rape scene.
