Franz Welser-Möst conducts the Zurich Opera Orchestra and Chorus in this boldly stylized staging of Rossini's farce exploring the vagaries of love and poetic inspiration, starring Cecilia Bartoli as Donna Fiorilla and Ruggero Raimondi as Il Turco. Bartoli is in top form, and the production's bright colors suitably complement the work's delightfully comedic nature. Valery Tsarev, Reinaldo Macias and Paolo Rumetz also star.
