Ruby in Paradise

Victor Nunez directs this coming-of-age story about a young woman, Ruby (Ashley Judd), who leaves her Tennessee home to start a new life in a small tourist town on the coast of Florida. In short order, she lands a job, finds an apartment and snags a boyfriend. But her new beginning is threatened when the boss's son covets her -- and won't be put off. This early film of Judd's was the winner of the Grand Prize at the 1993 Sundance Film Festival.
