In these six episodes from Season 4, wine-loving barrister Horace Rumpole (Leo McKern) defends a man against liquor-theft charges and an elderly woman against spy charges. He also takes on left-wing activist Liz Probert (Samantha Bond) as his pupil. But will he finally gets kicked out of the house by his pushy wife, Hilda (Marion Mathie)? The series is written by barrister-playwright John Mortimer.
