In the seventh and final series of this program, barrister Horace Rumpole (Leo McKern) defends the Timson family when they're accused of practicing satanism and flirts with a violinist only to learn that he must defend her husband against a murder charge. Also, fellow barrister Claude Erskine-Brown (Julian Curry) runs for Queen's Counsel. In the series finale, rumpled Rumpole himself must go on trial.
