Eyewitness testimony, vintage film and photographs, and the commentary of historians reveal the horrifying extent of Stalin's dictatorship. The eight-hour program illustrates what life was like for average Soviet citizens from 1924-1953, an era in which more than 65 million of their fellow countrymen were slaughtered.
