What begins as a family's blessing later turns into a source of heartache in this potent drama helmed by Maryo de Los Reyes. Desperate for a son, a couple with an only daughter (Maricel Soriano) adopts young Joel (Jaypee De Guzman) -- who soon becomes the apple of their eye. But when catastrophe strikes, Joel's new mother (Nida Blanca) spirals into depression, blaming the boy for the tragedy and leaving daughter Shayne to make a fateful choice.
