The world-famous Kirov Opera, Orchestra and Ballet sparkle in this elaborate staging of composer Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov's "Sadko," performed at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia. The opera follows the fortunes of a musician (Vladimir Galusin) who leaves his hometown (and his wife) behind to find adventure abroad. Ever the loyalist, he eventually returns -- to much fanfare and a happy spouse (Valentina Tsidipova).
