Young sailor Andrew Brown (Jeffrey Hunter), the illegitimate son of high-ranking British naval officer Richard Saville (Michael Rennie), becomes marooned on an island occupied by German forces after his ship is torpedoed. Now, he must try to keep an enemy cruiser from leaving port while his father's fleet attempts a daring rescue. Based on C.S. Forester's novel Brown on Resolution, this thrilling World War II drama co-stars Wendy Hiller.
