Engineering student Karthik (Madhavan) falls in love with medical student Santi (Shalini) while traveling on vacation. Their relationship grows over time, but they eventually discover that their families' different social classes will stand in the way of their love. When Karthik's rich parents meet Santi's middle-class clan, their respective egos butt heads, making the idea of marriage seem impossible.
