Sally of the Sawdust

Taking orphaned Sally (Carol Dempster) under his wing, carny con man Eustace McGargle (W.C. Fields) rears her as his own. In time, destiny brings her into contact with her grandparents: flinty Judge Foster and his wife, who don't know Sally's true identity. When she wins the heart of well-to-do Peyton Lennox (Alfred Lunt), his father and the judge -- who detests circus folks -- plot to end the romance and get McGargle hauled off to the hoosegow.
