After six years of marriage, Sam (Ryan Brown) is a bachelor once again, while Janet (Jennifer Ferguson) is separated from her husband, who won't give her a divorce easily. Narrated by a bartender (Gary Busey) who knows them both, the film examines how past relationships can shape the future.
