There's honor even among thieves, so when notorious Sam Whiskey (Burt Reynolds) starts to break conning conventions when he falls under the spell of a beguiling woman (Angie Dickinson), all hell breaks loose among his colleagues. Besides, he can't help but be intrigued by her request: to search for stolen treasure buried underwater and return it to its rightful place in the United States Mint … without attracting the attention of the government.
