Valiant 17th century samurai Musashi Miyamoto (Toshirô Mifune) finds himself enveloped in conflict -- from a rivalry with a martial-arts school to a love triangle with two beautiful women (Kaoru Yachigusa and Mariko Okada). But nothing, not even a battle with 80 swordsmen, can shake his courage. The film is the second part of the acclaimed trilogy, whose first installment earned an honorary Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
