Hrishikesh Mukherjee directed this 1964 film starring Guru Dutt and Meena Kumari. When a young woman absconds on her wedding day to avoid an arranged marriage, her adopted sister, Gauri (Kumari), steps in and marries the groom, Dr. Shankar Chaudhry (Dutt) -- who has never laid eyes on his intended. All's well until Gauri's runaway sibling decides to come back, turning Gauri's whole world upside down.
