Before a captive young audience of grandchildren, widower Grandpa Nicholas (James Earl Jones) recounts the story of Christian bishop St. Nick (Hume Cronyn), whose miraculous yuletide antics land him in a Spanish jail. It is there that a kindly cook named Pete (Flex Alexander) sympathizes with St. Nick's plight, risks everything to free him and becomes his assistant in this inventive and heartwarming Christmas treat.
