Director Balbir Wadhawan's absorbing drama stars Nirupa Roy as Kamla, a stony, calculating woman who deserts her penniless husband and infant son, Santosh, to wed a wealthy mill owner (Pinchoo Kapoor). Working in the mill years later, Santosh (Manoj Kumar) locks horns with mommy dearest when she reneges on a promise to the union employees -- and then orders her thugs to kidnap Santosh. Can mother and son reach common ground?
