After terrorists kill his brother and leave his father paralyzed, Ajay (Aamir Khan), a young medical student, leaves school to join the Indian Police Service. This political drama provides a critical look at how and why arms and drugs are smuggled into India. In a romantic subplot, Ajay later marries his love, Seema, and must hide his double life from her. Colorful musical sequences add texture to John Matthew Matthan's directorial debut.
