Rainer Werner Fassbinder's 1976 movie, his first comedy, delves into the life of a writer (Kurt Raab) who firmly believes he's the reincarnated soul of a 19th century homosexual poet named Stefan George. Strapped for cash, he devises various plans to raise money -- most of which involve betraying women.
